Over the past few years, my career has centred around voice over work, but my roots lie in performance and storytelling in front of the camera. Recently, I’ve taken an exciting step into on-camera presenting for a new history YouTube channel. While I can’t yet share details about the project itself, I can share why this opportunity feels like such a natural and rewarding progression in my career.
Having trained professionally at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where I developed a strong foundation in acting, voice, movement and screen performance, I have worked across stage and screen, including roles in television drama, soap operas and commercials. These experiences deepened my appreciation for camera work and reinforced my love of visual storytelling. Being able to connect with an audience through subtlety, clarity and presence has always been something I value highly as a performer.
Alongside acting, I gradually built a career in professional voice over, which has become a major passion and focus of my work. Over recent years, I’ve collaborated with a wide range of companies and organisations, recording commercial, corporate and narrative voice overs from my home studio. Voice work has allowed me to refine my vocal technique, storytelling ability and attention to detail, and it continues to be a core part of my professional life.
While voice over remains a passion, returning to on-camera presenting feels like a natural extension of everything I’ve trained for and worked towards. Presenting combines many of the skills I use daily: clear communication, audience awareness, storytelling and authenticity. It also allows me to engage visually as well as vocally, which is something I have always enjoyed.
Stepping into presenting for a history-focused YouTube channel has been particularly meaningful. History is about people, context and narrative all elements that align closely with my background in drama and voice work.
As my career progresses, I am eager to pursue more opportunities that blend voice-over work, presenting, and storytelling. I'm enjoying the learning process; here is a short video of my initial two presenting roles. By the time the channel launches in the spring, I anticipate having learned much more and hopefully having further honed my presenting skills:
