Working with My Daughter and Her Teddy Bear: A Reminder of Play in Acting and a Moment of Joy After Bereavament

Working for the first time with my daughter was so much fun - she insisted on bringing her beloved teddy bear into the recording booth, which was just too cute! And reminded me of how playfulness fuels creativity and is a central tenet of my job .

My daughter’s teddy bear became a real prop in the booth, a symbol of safety and inspiration. It reminded me to approach each session with curiosity and joy, not just professionalism. Play is not just for children. It is a powerful tool for actors to reconnect with their creativity and passion.

After a challenging time on a personal level, when my family have lost two beloved grandparents within the space of six months, to have so much fun and laughter at work was a much needed tonic as well as an opportunity to remind me why I love doing what I do.
